All Societies Inequality An Unfortunate Evil That Has...

In all societies inequality exists as an unfortunate evil that has plagued the human race since the beginning of civilization. Those who are subjected to this inequality vary from society to society however those who suffer from mental and/or physical disabilities have faced inequality and discrimination from the beginning. Often times the suffering faced by the disabled communities are overlooked simply because it’s considered â€Å"common† or ‘normal† treatment past struggles are typically overlooked. Religion like Catholicism viewed disability as a result of sin. Exodus states that a man and women by the name of Adam and Chavva committed sin and as a result their child was born disabled. Also the bible mentions men being blind as a result of his or her parent’s sin. However, even worse than this, Past societies would simply kill those who showed any mental or physical disability. Often time’s people are aware of these horrific facts but donà ¢â‚¬â„¢t bring attention to the consistent mistreatment faced by disabled persons. This mistreatment can be explained by the simple realization that society says people with disabilities are different. This difference means they cannot fit in, it makes them inept, and are too flawed to adapt to society effectively. However, the reality of this issue is not in the individual but in society itself. Serial killing is a diverse topic with multiple explanations in order to explain the occurrences. The notion of fear and an inability to fully comprehend the causes of serial killings are evident in this post-modern era. The fascination with serial killing has provided mass media the ability to instill upon serial killer with celebrity status. The main issues that allow serial killers to perform their acts range from Kevin D. Haggerty’s (2009) exploration of social impacts such as the society full of strangers, a broken rationality which is disconnected from values and morality, cultural diversity, ability for planned out killings and an intention to transform society. The Great Depression is undoubtedly one of the most significant events in American and world history. It was the most widespread depression in the 20th century affecting most nations in the world and lasting for as long as a decade. However, there still remain unanswered questions regarding the cause of the great depression. One of the most debated topics regarding the Great Depression continues to be the role of the Federal Reserve (Fed) in causing and prolonging the crisis. The Federal Reserve, the central banking system of the United States, was created on December 23, 1913, with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act, primarily in response to a series of financial panics in 1907. The Federal Reserve was charged with the duty of regulating the inflow and outflow of gold by increasing or decreasing the d iscount rate. The discount rate is the interest rate the Fed charges depository banks that borrow reserves from it. An outflow of gold meant an increase in the money supply and this was triggered by a decrease in the discount rate. On the other hand an inflow implied an increase in the discount rate and hence a restriction of the money supply. The activities of the Federal Reserve with regard to the gold standard were to be in accordance with all other countries on the standard such as the United Kingdom in other for the system to work effectively. On the 11th of January 1929, the Wall Street Journal published an article addressing the probably effects of an increase in the discount rate. The article titled â€Å"Rise In Discount Rate Unlikely Soon† emphasized on the fact that a rise in the discount would most likely diminish the money supply. Besides this, it also helps in understanding the needs of refugees, immigrants and undocumented individuals. It is important for the businesses to understand different cultural practices carried out in other countries for the purpose of competing in the business environment in an effective manner (Gudykunst, 2003). Human beings have a tendency to learn from people who are different from them. This tendency helps me in providing suggestion of the quality of ideas to solve the problems by finding the best approach by combining different cultural processes in provide solution to a problem occurred in the workplace. In the multinational company, there is a presence of workers belonging to different culture and countries which results in creation of the problems related to language barriers and understanding of the culture of different people. The intercultural communication helps in understanding the culture of different people as they share their views and opinions with each other by the use of common language. This also help me to provide solutions to the problems faced in the workplace as it facilitates in providing creative ideas to solve different problems associated with culture in the company (Gudykunst and Mody, 2002). It help me to understand my team members belonging to different cultures which facilitates in achieving the goal and objective of the team in an effective and efficient manner.
